Refinishing Services
Cabinet refinishing is the process of removing your old doors and drawer fronts and giving them a completely refreshed look. The process includes degreasing, sanding, priming, and painting, with two coats of primer and two coats of paint applied in our professional shop using a painting booth, delivering factory-finish results.
While the cabinet fronts are refinished in our shop, the doors and cabinet boxes are refinished on-site, with a controlled workspace including masking, temporary paint booth setups, vents, and fans to safely manage fumes and ensure a professional finish.
The refinishing process typically takes 2–3 weeks, depending on the kitchen size, to achieve the best results. We can also provide a full on-site cabinet painting service within a week, which requires less prep work; however, this is not considered a professional refinishing service and will not achieve the same factory-quality finish.
This approach allows us to deliver high-quality, durable, like-new results while minimizing disruption and keeping your space safe and clean.
Refinishing services is the process of renewing your old cabinet and transforming them into cabinets that are Like New. Yes, your old yellow stained kitchen can look like the fancy contemporary white kitchen you see advertised without replacing anything. You can also refinish into that traditional stained cherry toned look that never gets old. You can refinish your cabinets regardless of whether they are painted to stained. You can refinish them into any desired finish, color, or tone. You can give your old doors a tune up by routing the edges into any model or style disguising them as new. Our refinishing services consist of refinishing the doors, drawer fronts, and cabinet boxes.
Here at Cabinets Refinish, we value your private space; therefore, we make sure to complete the refinishing work for the doors & drawer fronts at our shop from start to finish. We will ask for a week of on site work to perform the prep and refinishing work of the boxes. This consists of masking, stripping, sanding, priming, and painting/staining.

Why Refinish?
Refinishing your cabinets offers numerous advantages over replacement or refacing. By refinishing, you preserve the high-quality craftsmanship and solid wood materials of your existing cabinets while giving your kitchen a completely updated and refreshed look.
Unlike full replacement, refinishing does not require removing countertops, appliances, or other cabinets. There’s no demolition work, no need to move anything, and your kitchen remains mostly functional throughout the process. This makes refinishing a faster, cleaner, and more convenient solution.
Refinishing also gives you complete control over colors, tones, and finishes, allowing you to achieve a look that is fully customized to your style. While new cabinets often come with limited color and finish options, refinishing lets you create any shade, finish, or combination you desire, perfectly matching your vision for your space.
Stain or Paint?
Unlike most companies, we offer both stain and paint refinishing services. For staining, cabinets must be completely sanded down to bare wood before applying the new stain. Many companies avoid this labor-intensive process, but we utilize special technology that allows us to perform sanding more efficiently and effectively.
For cabinets that were previously painted, we strip, sand, and prime the surfaces to ensure a flawless finish. Typically, the previous paint type must match the new paint, but we use a specialty sealing primer that blocks the previous paint and allows us to apply our high-quality cabinet paint over it, delivering durable, long-lasting results.
Featured Options
To give your refinished cabinets a fresh, customized look, we offer a variety of enhancement options. Cabinet edges can be routed in a range of contemporary or classic styles, and we can install glass doors to showcase decorative items such as fine glassware or china.
We also recommend updating hardware to match the style of your newly refinished kitchen. Our team can fill old holes, patch surfaces, and drill new ones according to your preferences. If possible, we also install new hinges that match your existing hinge system to ensure proper function.
For a unique, elegant touch, we offer a glazed finish on both painted and stained cabinets, giving them a subtle antique or aged look—perfect for those who appreciate the charm of vintage and classic styles.
